very cool ambience + stuff

if i were you though i would do away with that sawwy melody and replace it with something darker. Like, squareFM blips that sound like a submarine hull being knocked on. Also i think filter blips would sound sick (psytrance style bassline)

Thanks for the input! I'm actually in the process of fixing this song, and the main melody has been a big headache to work with. I liked it because it made me think of Tron, but you're right, it doesn't fit well. Thanks again!

the sound in beginning is way too simply automated, kick drum should stand out, overall should be way more intense. the poizone sound should definately be changed to something that changes+is more fluid.

major mixing issues

all of the elements seem to drown out eachother... the beat completely loses power at
5 seconds in because those hats are too loud or something

You've defined the problem with the mixing on this song perfectly. You're hearing the transition between different numbers of tracks at the same total volume (for example when the hats come in) so it all gets brought down by compression. My bad. For my next track I've been mixing whilst I've been making it instead of all at the end, so hopefully it will come out better!

like IZK said though, better high hats+drums are truly in need. Try distortiing/eqing and hipassing an amen break and then a soft bassy snare (quiet) on every 2nd 16th..

(DONT DO THE dance HHIHAT THING on every second 1/8th lol)
