Eh?
how is this drum n bass? Also, your bass drum is clipping... and the saw instruments are simply too overused
Woa oops actualy my bad, not suposed to be in drum n bass. Thanks for your review.
Needs work, but nice atmosphere
Drums do not punch through enough, the snare is especially weak, has little to no snap (at first it has good snap). Also, drumstep is punctuated by fast non repetitive beats, but here it's mostly the same beat with little or no intense variation with a cerbera bass and string in the background. Also you should grab a new sample for the kick, something that hits lower (maybe a lowpassed synth kick layer it under the amen?). Also, it needs transitions. It seems to jump randomly from section to section without any dynamic changes... Flippin delicious example of drumstep: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ClpQLb LzR4k
Thank you for the review. I will work on these points. ;)
Wait a second!! This IS DRUMSTEP!! It has a Halfstep drumbeat! And wobble bass. The variation in drums is just preference!
Drums are nice! Cool sequencing
reese needs alot more work though. The fruity phaser really ruins reeses if you ask me.
Thanks SteakJohnson,
I didn't use a phaser, I don't know but I did something that makes the reese sound like it's phasing.
Anyways, Thanks :)
Very cool
Would love to hear some more warping pads in the intro (subtle of course). To me the whole after drop part sounds like its clipping like mad, cool drop btw, love the exit out of the chill arp thing. Also tasty drums. Would love to hear some speedy hi-hat edits in there. Agreed with quarl on the kick being too high though. Bass mods sound a lil bit tone lacking but thats up to preference I guess. Modulation is cool+well synced, but really feels overpowered by the kick and snare. Mess with the bass till it sounds cleaner but dirtier (crappy advice lol) at same time lol, then bring it up in mix. Bring out other elements than the kick and snare when the drop hits more... hope my advice helps lol
Like to hear some advices from someone that actually know*s something about music I will definitely
apply some of that, thx for review..I will try to do my best...
pretty cool
very unique drum sequencing, goooood job. Sounds a bit empty though and unfinished. Needs more of a lead up to the beat. Great wip though.
really good
sounds like professional hip hop stuff, even though im not much into hip hop, sidechaining is just a tad jarring
prty decent
lame bass though and bass sequencing, it seems too loud, too muddy. Drums are nice tho
Well, it is supposed to sound "dirty" as you say, and when i think of it, it might really be too loud.
I appreciate for being honest, unlike all the a**holes giving zero for no reason.
Thank you for comment.
Was gonna comment on how I liked the sidechaining
but then i realized it probably wasnt on purpose.....
needs to... be a song.
More instruments... Better percussiion at the very least that cuts through
there is a lot more that has been done to the song, this is just what i rendered out for its first shot, i agree it does need to be put more into a song, i have to shorten a lot, i basically had all the parts to it figured out and wanted something basic and loopy before i got to messing with envelopes and proper timing xD im still trying to get that bass smoothed out. the percussion being the finer point to why i need more poizone knowledge
To be honest, i am still also learning about compression and got lucky with that one xD
